Discovering Patagonia and Navigating Ice Rivers.

Very early in the morning and from the EPA pier begins the excursion towards the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park through the Señoret Canal. During the crossing, the Balmaceda Mountain is observed, where the glaciers to be visited are located.

The first point of interest will be the Frigorífico Bories National Historical Monument, founded in 1913 by the Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego, which for more than 60 years was the most important slaughterhouse in the area. Its constructions stand out in masonry, industrial architecture English post-Victorian style.

On the way you will visit the waterfall, cliffs of Condors and Mount Balmaceda of 2,035 meters high, where you can see the glacier of the same name.

A disembark is made in Puerto Toro to begin a walk along the shore of the Témpanos lagoon, crossing a native forest of coigües, ñirres and plums, towards the Serrano glacier.

On returning from the hike, the boats wait to be embarked and begin to travel the 40 kilometers of length of the Serrano River. Once in the waterfall, a 15-minute walk takes place towards the viewpoint of Donoso hill and then to the waterfall of the Serrano river. Then we embark on another inflatable boat to continue the navigation towards Villa Serrano.

During this trip you can enjoy a privileged view of the Tyndall glacier, which is part of the Southern Ice Field. When you arrive at your final destination, you will find a traditional lamb barbecue at the "quincho" in Puerto Chaiten.

Crossing the Patagonian steppe from north to south and after 2 hours and a half of travel, we reach the border crossing of Cancha Carrera, from there we travel through the south of Chile until we enter the Torres del Paine National Park.

On board of 4×4 overland trucks, the most important points are visited, from where walks are carried out that give access to the panoramic viewpoints of the most outstanding natural attractions of the park.

Habitually, if the towers are being seen since the morning, the entrance to the park is through the Laguna Amarga, from there you descend to the bank of the Paine River to have a picnic. Passengers who wish to have lunch at the place will have tables and benches in a wonderful environment protected from the wind. For those who want a more extreme experience, a walk with the guide along the Fauna Trail for lunch in a panoramic viewpoint. This walk is 50 minutes, with difficulty since it is ascending.

Once in march again and after making stops at various viewpoints (Swans Lagoon, Mirador Superior del Nordenskjold), we arrive at the Salto Grande, from where a walk to the Mirador de los Cuernos del Paine on the shores of Lake Nordenskjold. This walk is guided and lasts 2 hours.

Continue in the vehicle to a new viewpoint, this time near Lake Pehoe, from where you can see one of the most famous views of the National Park, with the Horns and the French Valley in the background, framed by lakes Pehoe and Nordenskjold, from there you can also see Mount Paine Grande and Admiral Nieto.

Then, back to El Calafate.
