Mendoza: Tourism on foot by the best Malbec in the world
Mendoza, Perdriel
Tourism on foot by the best Malbec in the world
10 minutes from the city of Mendoza, is Perdriel, the area that gives the best Malbec in the world. This tour proposes to know closely, on foot, the vineyards of three wineries: Achaval Ferrer, Matervini and Renacer. The excursion consists of two walks among the vineyards to discover their vines, clusters and furks, to know the importance of the soil, the high luminosity and the climate. Also to taste the grapes and to feel their aromas and of course, to taste their wines. This is the first excursion of its kind in Mendoza. Since its beginnings the Achaval Ferrer winery has pursued a path strongly marked by its obsession and respect for nature. The Italian roots, provided by Roberto Cipresso himself, have a fundamental contribution as an ideological foundation that was strengthened by group thought, experience and enological results. Today the winery imprints an unmistakable seal on each of its wines, the result of years of coherence and joint work. Matervini is the new undertaking of Santiago Achával and Roberto Cipresso, it was born in 2008 with a great restlessness, "what comes after Malbec?"; his response was: "More Malbec! from different places, with different character. Matervini demonstrates how, starting from the same variety, grapes from different terroirs produce wines of absolutely different character. Six wines of the same intensity and different geologies are produced. Malbec from Bodegas Renacer has already reached its surprising expressions of high quality in Argentina. Renacer has 29 hectares of vineyards planted with Malbec, some of them more than 50 years old and with a production of less than 8 tons per hectare. Renacer, which has been awarded for its architecture and landscape, offers a lunch with 3-step menu with wine.
